Pixel 11 Pro and Pro Fold: Features and Launch

Google is beginning to tease the Pixel 11 Pro, one of the most highly awaited Android devices of 2026. Official videos reveal its rear design, camera module and a new multicolor light called Pixel Glow.

Ahead of the official launch, a series of promotional pictures leaked that also showed off the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The second foldable from Google is expected to keep the same physical factor as the previous version, but may have a thinner body, a redesigned camera module, and deeper Gemini connectivity.

Google will launch the Pixel 11 series during its next Made by Google event on August 12, 2026.

Pixel 11 Pro Retains Google’s Signature Design

Google’s smartphones are characterized by the horizontal camera bar, and the Pixel 11 Pro continues that. This distinction can be seen clearly on the right side of the module where a multicolor light is used instead of the typical flash region.

Official teasers also reveal a reflective metallic coating surrounding the cameras. However, this effect may be merely due to the visual treatment utilized in the video. There is no proof that the complete camera frame can light up.

The Pixel 11 Pro’s “Ask more of your phone” advertisement positions the phone as the ideal choice for consumers who already use Gmail, Google Maps, Calendar, Drive, Photos, Docs and Gemini.

What is Pixel Glow?

Pixel Glow is a colorful circular light inside the camera module. Google has demonstrated the component in action, but has not disclosed all of its features.

Pixel Glow can be a visual sign of:

  • Calls and messages;
  • App notifications;
  • Important alerts;
  • Gemini activity;
  • System status.

This feature would bring back the notification LED concept but with more colors, animations and customization choices. These possible usage have not been confirmed by Google.

Expected Pixel 11 Pro Specifications

Google will reveal the final specifications on August 12. Current leaks point to:

  • Google Tensor G6 processor;
  • 6.3-inch display;
  • 12GB or 16GB of RAM;
  • Storage from 256GB;
  • Upgraded primary camera;
  • Updated telephoto lens;
  • Android 17 out of the box;
  • New AI features powered by Gemini.

The possible removal of the 128GB option could raise the entry price, even if each storage configuration remains close to its predecessor.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold appears in promotional images

Evan Blass has posted high-res photographs of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold through his “Leakmail” program. The material looks like the official product photos Google uses for its stores and marketing efforts.

But the validity of the photographs has not been verified by Google.

It is offered in a dark green shade called Pine. This finish is a more subtle alternative to the Jade option for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The photos also display a revamped camera module and what seems like Pixel Glow support.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold could be thinner

One of the most important improvements to the foldable could be a slimmer body. Previous leaks have suggested a thickness of 10.1mm, or around 0.40 inches when closed. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold measures 0.43 inches, or 10.8mm.

If that’s the case, the increased proportions should make the Pixel 11 Pro Fold slimmer and more comfortable to handle. But it would still be thicker than the 9.7mm Galaxy Z Fold 8 and 10.1mm Motorola Razr Fold.

The overall design should be similar to the preceding generation. The photos reveal somewhat thick display bezels and the same tall external screen shape.

Android 17 and Gemini take center stage

The series will contain four models: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. All four devices are likely to come with Android 17 with Google’s Tensor G6 CPU.

Gemini will be at the heart of the new range. Google will manage the hardware, operating system, services and AI models that might drive new productivity, search, photography and contextual aid features.

When will Google reveal the Pixel 11 Pro?

The Google Store confirms a Made by Google event for August 12, 2026. Pixel 11 preorders will also open on the same date.

Google has not announced prices. Some reports point to increases of up to €100 in select European markets and the removal of 128GB versions.
